Sweet Like Chocolate Productions produces works in a style called Poetic Theatre or Poetic Drama style. Poetic Drama term applied to the plays written in verse or in a heightened poetic form of prose, which in the 19th and 20th centuries constituted an attempt to restore the medium of poetry to the stage.
Our Mission is to bring urban poetic works in combination with prose and dance to the stage. We will stimulate, celebrate and enhance understanding of ourselves and others through the shared experience of live theatre in Philadelphia and other cities worldwide. We will produce a broad range of theatrical presentations giving opportunities for artists from all genres to showcase their talents.
